Australia – short description:

This immense island caught between the Pacific and Indian ocean is one of the most interesting countries in the world. There are so many sites to visit ranging from deserts to magnificent beaches, from historical buildings to ultra-modern constructions, not to forget the wildlife, which is also very particular, here you can find specimens that are unique in the world.

Canberra, the capital as well as Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth are some of the larger cities in Australia and offer interesting cultural sites with plenty to explore. The sea is probably Australia’s main attraction, for it is completely surrounded by turquoise or deep blue waters, which offer plenty of activities such as surfing, scuba diving, sailing and of course miles and miles of pristine beaches.

The best ones are to be found North of Brisbane, on the Sunshine coast or to the South along the Gold Coast, while the snorkelers or scuba divers prefer Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, further to the North, where one can find a myriad of underworld beauty and the largest barrier reef in the world.

Australia is also synonymous of rain forests with lush vegetation, waterfalls and rare species of animals, notably in the famous Kakadu National Park in the region of Queensland. Near Melbourne in the Victoria region one can venture through the Alpine National Park on skis or on trekking paths, while in the North South Wales the Snowy Mountains also offer an excellent mountain site.

Other sites of interest are Alice springs, William Creek onto the famous red Ayers Rock as well as other sites such as the Namadgi National Park where one can admire ancient aboriginal art. Tasmania is also part of Australia, one fifth of it being World Heritage area.
